Isolar Neutralux is a brand new insulting glazing of low emission. The low emission is a barrier, which reduces considerably the transmission of energy. This type of glass, of low emission, is the result of a high-technology production. Several metallic layers rich in silver are successively deposited in these glasses, and as a result we have a transparent, colourless glass, like the original float glass.
 
The thickness of these layers is a millionth millimetres. A glass, to which just one silver layer of this thickness were applied, would not be transparent. For a right application of the metallic layers, the glasses should have been washed and dried authomatically. Afterwards, they go though several vacuum chambers, where the different layers are applied, following the cathodic spraying method. This process is also called "Sputtern".
 
The magnetic field used to improve the quality of the layers applied has been called "Magnetron Process".
 
After this process, the glasses with metallic layers are piled up and prepared for their transport. They must be packed and stored, so that silver, which is very sensitive, cannot react with the relative humidity.

How it Work

In a building, the windows and the facade are the places where there is the highest loss of energy. In order to reduce that loss, it is essential to install glasses of Low Emission (ISOLAR NEUTRALUX), which reduce considerably the Thermal Transmission coefficient, also called "Coefficient K". The lower this coefficient is, the greater the saving of energy by thermal radiation between the two glasses will be.

The loss of energy through a glass with metallic layers, is reduced in a 70%, if we compare it with a conventional glass, since the metallic layer avoids almost completely that exchange of energy, keeping the heat inside whereas it is cold outside.

The function of a modern glazing such as ISOLAR NEUTRALUX is to reduce the energetic exchange, assuring comfort inside and saving energy.

Using NEUTRALUX layers, it can be reached an insulating coefficient similar to the one provided by a wall of bricks of 30-cm thickness, and however due to its high transparency, it doesn't look different from traditional insulating glazing. Saving energy contributes to the defence of the environment, which is something, we owe to the future generations.

To isolate from cold

Isolar Neutralux is manufactured by means of a process, which is rather similar to other insulating glazing.

The difference lies on the right use of glass with metallic layers. In Neutralux glazing, the side, which has been worked, must be placed inside the chamber. Before assembling the double-glazing authomaticaly, the metallic layers is removed from the borders, which will be sealed, This process is called "removing of borders perimeters ". It avoids the corrosion of silver surface and at the same time it assures an ideal adherence between the glazing and the sealer.

In windows and facades, Isolar Neutralux must be placed in such a way that the metallic layer is situated in the interior glass and facing the air chamber. Only this way it is possible to make good use of solar radiations (2/3 of them go inside the chamber. The solar energy remains inside after becoming heat, so Isolar Neutralux acts as a free heater.

When it's cold, in simple glazing or double-glazing without metallic layer, the surface temperature in the interior side of the glass is much lower than the temperature of the room, so we avoid the closeness to the glazing, where it is cold.

With Isolar Neutralux, the surface temperature increases when the thermal coefficient K decreases. The difference between the temperature of the room and the temperature of the glass is much smaller. This uniform temperature gives more comfort even in the areas, which are closer to the glazing.

To isolate from Cold and Heat

Isolar Neutralux-S, is the insulating glazing thought for warn places or areas which are usually exposed to sunlight. Isolar Neutralux-S is produced in a similar way as Isolar Neutralux. The difference in the manufacture lies on the fact that the metallic layer, apart from a high percentage of silver, also includes other metallic oxides, which increase its reflection. Isolar Neutralux-S must be set in windows and facades in such a way that the surface, which has got the metallic layer, is inside the external glass.

This layer also avoids the exchange of thermal radiations between the two glasses, so it reduces the transmission of heat through the glazing. Besides, it also reduces the solar energy intake in the building, reducing considerably the "Solar Factor". This kind of metallic layer makes that only a half of the solar energy can inside the building. This is what we call "Solar Factor" (amount of solar energy which goes through the glazing in %).

If we compare Isolar Neutralux-S with others kind of glazing we can see a double saving of energy in air conditioning.

Low coefficient K = less loss of energy.

Low Solar Factor = less thermal transmission.

Isolar Neutralux-S is the ideal insulating glazing for warn areas if you want to save energy.
