The noise in the cities affects people both in their jobs and in their houses. It disturbs us wherever we are, even when want to rest and silence is important for our health.
Noise pollution is one of the main reasons that causes stress in industrialised countries, being the noise too much for people both in many cases.
The number of people with hearing problems, caused by a continuous noise is increasing. In places where is not possible to avoid noise exposure, soundproofing is necessary in order to improve comfort and quality of life.
Continuous noise, whose annoying effects we try to reduce usually come from outside, generally caused by traffic. Recent research, show that the frequency of noise is different depending on the type of traffic.
Active Defence Against Noise
Soundproofing in a building begins with an exact planning. For monolithic blocks such as roofs or opaque walls, soundproofing is a problem of mass, the bigger, the thickness and the density of the wall, the better, the soundproofing. The same happens to the soundproofing provided by a monolithic glass.
In the case of pieces of building formed by different parts such as double-glazing, the soundproofing works in adifferent way. In this case, what is really important is the combination of the systems.
Traditionally, the glazing and windows have been the weak points in soundproofing in a building.
Double - Glazing Soundproofing
The degree of soundproofing with double-glazing is measured depending on the way it reacts when the noise waves produce vibrations on it.
The higher the inertia of the system, the better, the degree of soundproofing.
In order to build the glazing right, some simple rules must be observed, since in the double-glazing, soundproofing is also a problem of mass.
Thicker pieces improve soundproofing, but what is really important is the fact that the two glasses have a different thickness. The bigger is that difference of thickness, the better is the soundproofing. Soundproofing improves when the distance between the two glasses increases. That is why Isolar AKUSTEX glazing has a distance between glasses, which is longer to other ISOLAR glazing.
For sound proofing in windows and facades, it doesn't matter the order in which we set the glasses, which compound ISOLAR AKUSTEX.
What is really important for that is that woodwork and installation fulfil the technic demands required.
Better soundproofing with acoustic lamination
With a right building of the glazing, we can achieve a soundproofing of 50 dB. If we exchange a simple glass for another one of the same thickness with sheets of butinol, the soundproofing remains practically the same.
It's different we the simple glass is exchanged by a special glass for soundproofing ISOLAR AKUSTEX.
In comparison with similar glazing Isolar Akustex improves in 3-4 dB the soundproofing. This is a substantial difference, since a improvement of only 3 dB equals the reduction of half the intensity of a noise.
A superior soundproofing is achieved with ISOLAR AKUSTEX, made up of two sheets.
Isolar guarantees its products within a period of ten years from the date of manufacture, against any defect, which reduces visibility due to the condensation or dust deposited over the interior side of the transparent glasses.
This guarantee is valid provided that the normal conditions of use of ISOLAR have been observed.
Solar control and low emision
We know that a better soundproofing with double-glazing is achieved by means of a right composition of the glass. Providing one of the glasses with a metallic layer we also achieve a low heat transmission, having no influence in the degree of soundproofing.
So we can complement the acoustic properties of ISOLAR AKUSTEX with the thermal properties of ISOLAR NEUTRALUX and NEUTRALUS-S.
The result is a glazing able to satisfy the higher demands of soundproofing ad at the same time the heat keeps in the right place. So, the different properties of the glass give way to a wide range of possibilities to improve the quality of the environment when we plan buildings and at the same time it makes a good use of energy.
The properties of Isolar Solarlux can be also combined with those of Isolar Akustex, having a wide range of possibilities for building configuration.
In order to obtain efficient solutions, it's necessary to choose the best Isolar glazing since there's one for each particular demand. our technic Information office will clear you any question that may arise.
